Finally a weekend without rain (maybe---20% chance) and we decided to have an OPEN HOUSE!!! We are actually going to do two days---Saturday and Sunday May 18-19, 2013 from 2-4 p.m.
Since we last spoke, we have had a brand new Heat Pump installed. Thank heavens we have had such cool weather. It is super efficient and makes the upstairs so comfortable. So, that means we have had a new hot water heater(Tankless-great energy saver) and now a new heat pump.
What a deal you will be getting!!!
The outside of the house is looking great. We have planted a new Lantana on the corner. The azaleas have just about quit blooming and the hydrangeas and the gardenias are coming on strong! We have the most prolific gardenia bush!!! It is in absolutely the perfect place and blooms twice a year. Last year after it bloomed I took cuttings and just yesterday planted them in pots and gave them to my daughter and sister for Mother’s Day. In the back around the patio we have another hydrangea. It is an Oak Leaf and so very pretty. I love the yard—I call it a “puttering” yard. Lots of great basic bushes and trees but you can still add color in the summer with annuals. Another great thing is that looks great all year long. In the fall, the Japanese Maple trees just shock you with the gorgeous oranges and reds.
Oh, and the peonies are just about ready to burst open. I do love those flowers.
I think I will make a list of some of the flowers that are in the yard:
Roses | Knock out roses |
Iris | Black eye Susans |
Perennial marigolds | yellow mums |
Rose Mallow | Columbine |
Gladioli | Hostas (several varieties) |
Ajuga | Gardenia |
Feverfew | Daffodils |
Pussy Willow | Easter Lilies |
Lamb’s Ear | and lots more!!!! |
